How to create a Zap with reteach

Automatise a participant function in reteach with another software using Zapier

After Zapier has successfully been integrated into your reteach account, you can now start creating Zaps.

  1. Log into Zapier and click on the tab Zaps to see an overview of your Zaps. Should there not be any Zaps yet, click on Make a New Zap in the Home-Folder. If you already have Zaps, click on the black button Create Zap.
  2. Now you can select an app (reteach) on the following page in which the Zap is supposed to start when a certain action happens. Now search for reteach in the search bar under "App Event" and select it.
  3. The following overbiew guides you through the process of creating a Zap step by step. You can now select the so-called "Trigger Event", at which a certain action should happen automatically. Let's use the "New Customer" Event for instance. Is this selected, a following action is triggered when a new participant is entered into reteach.
  4. When you now click on "Continue", you are asked to log into your reteach account and a pop up window opens to do this. If you have already added a reteach account, you can select this under "Choose Account". After, click on "Continue".
  5. Now you can test your trigger event by clicking on "Test trigger". In this case, a new participant needs to be created to run the test. Alternatively, you can skip the test. After, click on "Continue" again.
  6. Now you are redirected to the next step in which you can determine an action which should happen when you create a new participant. As previously, now you can determine an app that should be opened for the action. In this case, we utilise Google Docs.
  7. Once the app for the action is selected, you can determine which event now needs to happen. In Google Docs for instance we are using the event "Append Text to Document".
  8. In the next step, you connect to the account again which should use the selected app. In this case, you log into the Google account of your choice and allow Zapier to access your account.
  9. Now determine the context of your selected app, eg. in which folder a text should be added to a file when a new participant is created. In our case, we enter the text "New participant added" in the file "Participant list" in the folder "root".
  10. After clicking "Continue", you can test whether your action is working. If it is, you may receive a notification.

Now you have successfully created a Zap with reteach! You now have the possibility to add more automatised actions or publish the Zap if you are finished.
