[Managing participants](https://support.reteach.com/en/participants?hsLang=en#managing-participants) # How to create participants ## How you can add new participants to your academy manually You can manually add participants in reteach by clicking on the "**Teilnehmer\*innen hinzufügen**" (Add Participants) button in the Participants section. ![Add participants](https://support.reteach.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Screenshot%202024-08-28%20at%2010-06-15-png.png?width=670&height=221&name=Screenshot%202024-08-28%20at%2010-06-15-png.png) When you click on "**Create**," a new window opens where you can set up a new participant. You will need the following information: email **or** username, password, first name, and last name. ![](https://support.reteach.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Screenshot%202026-08-05%20102502-png-2.png?width=926&height=477&name=Screenshot%202026-08-05%20102502-png-2.png) At this step, you can also set the user's **password** if needed. This is especially important if your user logs in with a username and without an email address. We strongly recommend that you communicate this password to your participants confidentially. This step is very important for privacy reasons. If you manually add a participant and set a password yourself, you are not allowed to send it to the participant via email. Additionally, you have the option to automatically invite participants to your academy via email. To do this, check the box for "**Invite participants via email**". The participants will then be prompted to set their own password. [You can learn how to invite participants who have already been added in the following article.](https://support.reteach.com/teilnehmer-zu-deiner-akademie-einladen?hsLang=en) **What additional profile data can I add?** The “Additional profile data (optional)” dropdown lets you record more details about a participant right when you create them. In the Add participant window, click Additional profile data (optional) – the section expands and you can fill in the fields you need. ![](https://support.reteach.com/hs-fs/hubfs/helpcenter-teilnehmende-weitere-profildaten-png-1.png?width=670&height=581&name=helpcenter-teilnehmende-weitere-profildaten-png-1.png) These fields are available: - **Profile name** – the participant’s display name - **Manager** – the person they report to, selected via **Add manager** - **Language** – the language of the interface and of system emails - **Time zone** – preset to `Europe/Berlin` - **Date of birth** and **Gender** - **Company**, **Department**, **Team**, **Position** and **Location** – the organisational assignment - **Type (Internal, External)** – whether this is an internal or an external person Finally, click **Add participant**.
