Changing the cookie banner notification

How you can edit the text of the cookie banner notification on the academy website

On your academy website, a notification about cookies is displayed by default. Visitors of your academy can accept or decline these. The text of this notification can be edited.

As standard, reteach only sets technically required cookies which support the login of participants/employees into the academy. These are so-called system cookies (technical necessity) which are essential for the use of the platform and do not require permission of the user (§ 25 Abs. 2 Nr. 2 TTDSG). 

 

Agreeing to cookies may become necessary when you introduce further tools into your reteach academy. This is particularly going to be the case when analytics tools are being used (such as Google Analytics).

In this case, you should keep two things in mind and consult your data protection officer for (the following advice is no legal advice):

 

1) Text of your data protection declaration

You should review the text of your data protection declaration and adjust it if needed, especially to include the external tools being used.

2) Text of the cookie banner

You should review the text displayed on your cookie banner and potentially adjust it:

In order to edit the cookie banner, navigate in your admin area into the Settings and from there into the Legal section. Under the tab Cookie notice you can change the text of the cookie banner:
